John & Judy Saunders, Cambridge, CB1 3QT. England. John is a retired Social Worker, Judy is a retired Health Service Administrator. Both non-smokers

Our semi-detached Edwardian house (which retains most of its original features), is set between the town centre and suburbs. Centrally heated with two double bedrooms (master with radio/tv), a single, a study, bathroom with bath/shower and separate lavatory on the first floor. On the ground floor is kitchen (with radio/t.v)/breakfast room overlooking the terrace and garden. Small utility and lavatory off kitchen. A large hall leads to dining room with French doors opening through to a comfortable sitting room with multi-fuel stove, t.v./stereo/dvd player/radio and a laptop with broadband connection. We have a large, rear landscaped garden of lawns, shrubs, trees, pergola, small pond and vegetable patch (someone will come in and do the lawns and watering)

Friendly, helpful neighbours; many amenities within five minutes walk, including bus stops, shops, theatre, restaurants, bowling alley, cinema, and easy access to London (rail station 10 minutes walk) and motorway network within 5 miles. London (Stansted) airport - 40 minutes by train. We would like to exchange cars where appropriate.

A 20 minute walk takes you to the historic centre of Cambridge which is a relatively small town and easily walked around without having to use transport. There’s a market every day in the centre and good shops. Apart from the university buildings, colleges, punting on the Cam and the beautiful college backs, visit the Fitzwilliam Museum, Folk Museum, Kettle's Yard Gallery, College museums, antique shops, The Scott Polar Institute, the Round Church and the Rubens in King’s College Chapel. There’s an art cinema and dozens of good restaurants/pubs/cafes. Lovely river walks, including Grantchester meadows to take tea in the Orchard Tea Rooms and see the church clock made famous by Rupert Brook. East Anglia is well-known for its many beautiful villages and Norman churches, and the cathedrals at Bury St. Edmunds and Ely (within 30 miles drive but easily accessed by rail). Newmarket stud & race course is 30 minutes away and the Imperial war museum (aircraft) 20 minutes away.

Additional photos on request.
