Our home is very spacious and comfortable for our family of 4, but the home could easily accommodate a family of 6 or 7 or even two smaller families. It is about 18 years old, contemporary style, on two levels with 4 big bedrooms (two upstairs and two downstairs) including a separate parent retreat, 2 ½ bathrooms, large lounge, separate family or TV/ computer room which opens onto an in ground saltwater swimming pool in its tropical setting (low maintenance, wonderful to cool off and refresh), formal dining area, spacious, modern kitchen and full length front deck with views to the mountains. Reverse cycle airconditioning increases the comfort level throughout the house during occasional temperature extremes. The property backs onto a council bushland reserve with a proliferation of birdlife. We have a number of TV sets (to please all members of the family), video, broadband computer and internet access, security system, washer/dryer and all other necessary household gadgetry. If you are interested I would be happy to Email photos of the house and surrounds.Nearby are bike and walking trails through parkland and bushland reserves, golf clubs, neighbourhood shopping precinct ( 5 minute walk through the bushland reserve) and several large shopping centres within a 10 minute drive. We are an easy 10 - 20 minute drive to Moreton Bay and its many attractions (sailing, boating, fishing, sightseeing and ferries to the Bay Islands and their kilometres of white sandy surfing and fishing beaches - see http://www.redlandstourism.com/index.asp ) . Brisbane City is about a 15 to 20 minute drive from home. The hinterlands of these areas feature countless points of interest to explore and absorb. The motorway will also take you to many interesting places west of Brisbane including the historic Darling Downs.We have a 1996 Ford Station Sedan or a 1996 Toyota Camry Sedan which could be part of the exchange. There are bicycles, a surf ski, fishing gear, other sporting equipment and camping equipment which could be included as part of the exchange if required. Pick up at the airport and orientation at the house could be arranged if necessary. We are both non smokers and prefer that there be no smoking in the house. However smoking on the front deck would be acceptable. Keith is a 58 year old teacher and Cecily a 53 year old midwife. We have 4 boys but 2 have already left home to make their own lives so we are well on the way to becoming “Empty-nesters”. We all love travel with the males in the household particularly keen skiers. We would consider all offers beyond January '05 particularly New Zealand, Ireland, Europe, other parts of Australia or any other interesting venues.
