Brisbane is only an hour away travelling south, cosmopolitan world famous Noosa is about 45 minutes north and the Hinterland Ranges are about 30 minutes inland – an ideal location for holidays. There is a local bus at the door, rail is about 30 minutes away and Brisbane International airport is about 50 minutes (with a door-to-door bus pickup by a local carrier company), Maroochydore Airport, only 30 minutes away, is ideal for internal travel. Moffat Beach, one of Caloundra’s northern beaches, is a beautiful cove which is ideal for swimming, parks, restaurants, bike/walking tracks and shopping centres are less than 5 minutes in the car. There are also many cultural events and activities on during the year on the Sunshine Coast, including theatre/musical events and surf events; also many exhibitions and craft shows in the Hinterland – the home of craft! Enjoy a good glass of wine? There are a number of wineries in the region and wine tours if you want to indulge along the way! If you enjoy sports you will find plenty of facilities for swimming, tennis, bowls, world-class golf courses and some great Surf Clubs and RSL Clubs where you can enjoy cheap meals and great entertainment. There are plenty of opportunities for deep-sea fishing and diving charters/tours and snorkelling; paragliding in the hinterland and parachute jumping, if you are game! Our home is a large 4 bedroom unit above a modern furniture shop, located in a parade of shops that include three fantastic restaurants with outdoor seating and views of the ocean, hairdresser, post office, newsagent, surf shop, art gallery and a gift shop and butcher round the corner. The unit is one on its own and has ocean views and a large back patio with outside dining setting and BBQ and access to the double car garage. The large lounge/dining room is tastefully, and newly, furnished and you will find everything you need to eat quietly on your own or entertain, or just eat out! A Land Rover Discovery 4WD could be made available. Two of the bedrooms are currently being used as an office and storage and will be closed off. A large bedroom will be available and as we would prefer a couple only, the spare bedroom need not be used at all. Our unit is not suitable for children or pets and is available for non- smokers. A computer with high-speed Internet connection could be made available.About us – we are in our early 60’s, semi retired; our working life was spent mainly in the investment and insurance industry but over the past 7 years we have been developing a website……..! Our leisure time is spent travelling, visiting children, camping or just relaxing by the beach with a good book and a glass of wine or BBQ’s with friends and we are just about to join a jazz club which meets locally. We are planning to travel to UK in May and June (2004) and would like to organise exchange accommodation and car in the Cotswolds for 2 weeks, Ireland for at least a week and would consider other offers elsewhere or share your home for short periods during our holiday; we have accommodation already in Bishop Stortford, Bury St.Edmunds and Scotland with family and friends. We realise that this is short notice for some people but it is still 2 months away. This is our first time at home exchange but we are responsible, non-smokers and will look after your property as we would expect you to look after ours. As well as considering exchanges, we can make a bedroom in our unit available at most times for short spells and would not mind sharing - any offers considered. |
