We have a lovely home in the Tauranga area, which is located in the Bay of Plenty Province. New Zealand is a wonderful Country and contains natural beauty with it's lakes, mountains and beaches which are very difficult to surpass.
Tauranga is approximately 2 and 1/2 hours drive from Auckland (which is the closest International airport) and lies in the heart of the "orchard" area of the Bay, where citrus fruit/Kiwi fruit/apple and other fruits abound in season. Tauranga has regular air and road services from Auckland, several times daily. Tauranga is on the coast and has many lovely safe and sandy beaches that stretches for miles and enjoys a very pleasant climate.
We are 45 minutes from Rotorua, which is one of the tourist "mecca's" of New Zealand, with it's Maori culture/thermal activity/hot mud pools etc. A further 45 minutes (on wonderful roads) takes you to the shores of Lake Taupo, which is both a summer AND a winter playground and has fantastic trout fishing all year round. Lake Taupo is in close proximity to two of N.Z's best ski fields.Our home is on one level, of brick and tile construction and is 2,600 sq. ft. (240 sq mtrs approx). It contains 3 bedrooms and an office, kitchen/family room/separate dining area/large lounge/bathroom and separate toilet, plus an en-suite bathroom attached to the Master bedroom.
At the rear of the house is a "summer house" which is ideal for B.B.Q's during the long, hot summer evenings or just for relaxing in during the day.We are both retired, and non-smokers, and have no pets. A car exchange is optional. We are currently working on an exchange in England for September 2007. We would love to arrange an exchange with someone in Ireland for the last two weeks of August.
