Condo, with secure entry, has a king-size bed in the master bedroom, one bathroom, living room, dining area and full kitchen. It is equipped with cable TVs, VCRs, DVD, computer with fast internet access, washer and drier. A deck at the front of the condo takes full advantage of the views with incredible sunsets and sunrises, and at the rear is a very private patio area.

We are across the road from wonderful sandy beaches (at low tide) with some of the warmest waters north of California; overlooking Denman, Hornby and Lasqueti islands, the B.C. mainland and the Georgia Strait. Watch seals, sea lions and bald eagles from the window. We are within the village of Qualicum Beach, with good shopping; close access to 6 golf courses, including one just behind us! Great downhill and cross country skiing are 45 minutes away at Mount Washington. Several good restaurants are within walking distance. Old growth forests, a bird sanctuary, provincial parks, hiking, bird watching are all close by.

Qualicum a town of approx. 8000 people, is friendly and community oriented, where many retired people have chosen to live. It is located on the East coast of Vancouver Island, 35 minutes north of Nanaimo (the nearest airport) and 21/2 hours north of Victoria, the provincial capital with an international airport. Vancouver is a 11/2 ferry ride out of Nanaimo. The west coast of the island is 2 hours away. Whale watching is within a day trip.

We are recently retired teachers with previous exchange (England) and house sitting (Queen Charlotte Islands) experience. No smoking, in or outside the condo is a requirement. There are no pets. Car exchange is available: 1997 Chevy. Venture air conditioned mini van.
