We have made many timeshare exchanges including canal boats in England, but this will be our first actual house exchange.

We have two properties available for exchange, as we winter in Sidney (Victoria) B.C. from January through April, and spend the rest of the year in Ottawa, Ontario.

ABOUT OUR HOME IN SIDNEY, VANCOUVER ISLAND B.C.::: Sidney (located 20 minutes north of Victoria on Vancouver Island) is a charming sea-side town known as Canada’s version of Carmel. It has several marinas, many boutiques and restaurants, live theatre, a weekly craft and farmers’ market as well as being close to wonderful hiking and bike trails and several golf courses.

Our apartment is only five minutes to the Victoria airport and the ferries to Vancouver, the Gulf Islands and Washington state. A short drive takes you to the world famous Butchart’s Gardens as well as the many tourist attractions available in Victoria (museums, art galleries, Fisherman’s Wharf, Chinatown, whale watching, tea at the Empress Hotel, etc. There are many interesting day trips to places like Chemainus (famous for its dozens of wall murals), the Gulf Islands (including famous artists’ colony on Salt Spring Island), Vancouver (1 ½ hour ferry through the Gulf Islands), and many other interesting destinations that we can recommend.

Our Sidney home is a lovely two bedroom two bathroom condominium apartment only one block from the ocean, and two short blocks from the center of town. Everything in Sidney is within easy walking distance.

ABOUT OUR HOME IN OTTAWA (CANADA'S CAPITAL)::: Our Ottawa home is a luxury two bedroom three bathroom 22nd floor condominium apartment with a magnificent view of the city including Parliament Hill, the Rideau River and the Gatineau Hills in nearby Quebec. The facilities and grounds (12 acres) are resort-like including indoor and outdoor pools, tennis courts, indoor and outdoor hot tubs, fitness facilities, steam room, sauna, squash courts, barbeques and many other amenities. Nearby walking and biking trails extend along the Rideau River into the downtown areas where you can enjoy a huge Farmer’s Market on a daily basis during the summer months. Here you can also enjoy a boat ride on the Rideau Canal, or take a double-decker tour bus, or visit Parliament Hill, museums, art galleries, restaurants or shopping. Directly across from our building, you can take a bus that goes downtown every ten minutes.

OTHER INFORMATION::: We would be interested in trading our car in either location. We have family in Ottawa, and friends in Sidney who would be available to pick you up from the airport, and help you with any questions you may have.

WHEN AND WHERE DO WE WANT TO TRADE?::: We are looking for two to four weeks between July and September in 2007 and 2008, but are willing to consider other times - even non-simultaneous exchanges or a hospitality exchange in Ottawa. We would be interested in going to New Zealand, Europe, or surprise us with an offer! We are looking forward to a wonderful experience and meeting new friends.
