Is Home Exchanging a new idea?

No. Exchanging vacations has been going on for a long time. It started to become quite popular in the 50's mainly with those in the teaching profession who had similar vacation periods. However, it was rather a trying experience to arrange an exchange because Home Exchange services would only send out lists of possible exchanges to their members once or twice per year. As a result, vacation plans had to be planned far, far in advance.
Now, with the advent of the Internet, with almost instant communication with anyone in the world, The practical concept of Home Exchanging has become a very trendy, money saving, vacation option.
