We are Laurie and Yvonne from
Pleaseantville Nova Scotia, about an
hour south of the capital city of
Halifax. Laurie is recently retired and
Yvonne is a senior coordinator of
regular and special education
programs for a local school board and
about to retire in June 2010. We
have two grown children, our son is an
archeologist in Argentina working on
his PhD and our
daughter is in Halifax where she and
her husband are raising our two
beautiful grandchildren.
Our 8 year old 'retirement' dream
home is state of the art construction.
We personally designed it to capture
the essence of a seaside cottage with
a nautical theme. The beautiful pine
walls, natural beams, and open pine
ceiling showcase a loft where you will
find an office space (wireless internet),
exercise equipment games room with
pool table and a guest bedroom. The
master bedroom with king size bed is
on the main floor with an ensuite
which has a theraputic airjet tub for
two and generous separate shower. We
are sitauted on two acres of pristine
riverfrontage about 5 miles from the
Atlantic Ocean. Our home is a haven of
privacy and beauty, with expansive
windows and decks to enjoy the view
year round. From the moment you
enter the front door, you are drawn to
the view with every room designed to
capitalize on it. Cuddle up in front of
our cozy beachstone fireplace in the
great room during the winter months.
When the weather warms in the spring
you can enjoy a glass of wine and cool
breezes while sitting the deck which
boasts a panoramic view of the
beautiful LaHave River. You won't want
to leave the peace and tranquillity
unless you have a promise to return!
