We are a semi-retired non smoking couple and have a comfortable cottage style home on the water's edge of the Manukau Harbour. We are located only 40 minutes south of the Auckland International Airport and 45 minutes from Central Auckland. Local towns include Papakura, Pukekohe, Waiuku and Manukau City and are only 20 minutes away with public transport including train and bus.Our north facing home has all day sun with all the usual amenities including Sky TV and Internet access. We would be happy to transport to and from airport and advise on any further travel plans. Use of a car can be arranged if required. Would prefer non smokers.
Our seaside village is a popular semi-rural weekend and holiday destination and has an established 18 hole golf course, bowling green and yacht club within easy walking distance from our home. It also has a small library, restaurants, post shop and grocery store. Recreational activities include fishing, boating, cycling, walking, sailing, kayaking, wind surfing and swimming.
We are interested in hosting Northern Hemisphere Seniors in our summer when the weather is ideal for travelling around New Zealand, with reciprocal visits to the UK and Europe in the northern summer. We would particularly like short stays in the UK in Glasgow, Northern Ireland and Wales. Also plan to visit Berlin between May to July 2011. We are also open to any other options. Also similar hosting or exchanges in Australia and within New Zealand would be considered.
