Joan is from the Ottawa Valley and I hail from Nova Scotia. We have lived in Halifax, Ottawa, Victoria and now South Surrey. We are non-smokers.

Our Home: 2000 sq.ft. Rancher with 2 bedrooms and a den. Master bedroom with a king size bed and an ensuite. The second bedroom contains a queen size bed and is next to the main bath. There is a two-piece bathroom off the family room. Our flat Screen TV in the family room is connected to the basic cable package. The deck off the kitchen provides a private back yard to watch the hummingbirds while having your morning coffee. We have a double garage and are offering the use of our 96 Avalon and hoping our exchange partners will offer a car.

Area: We live in sunny South Surrey, a 40-minutes south of Vancouver, and 10 minutes to the U.S. border. Our home is close to Crescent Park, Crescent Beach and numerous smaller parks lined with hiking trails. A small Shopping Centre with a Safeway Store, liquor store, Video Shop, Restaurants etc. is a 5 min. drive or 15 min walk. Downtown SouthSurrey/White Rock is only a 10-minute drive away. A larger new commercial shopping complex is a 10-minute drive away and boasts the largest Wal-Mart in Canada as well as numerous other shops.

The Airport and Ferry to Victoria are both 38 km’s away and take 30 minutes to reach by car.

For golfers there are 4-5 great courses just below the border.

Destination for 2011: We would like an exchange in Ottawa in Feb. or March, 2011 AND Italy for June 2011. We look forward to hearing from you.
