outdoors flow” allowing for meals to be taken on the deck if wished. It has a small but private rear garden to pass the time away with a book or simply to relax in.
We are close to many scenic walkways the closest two being 5 minutes walk from from our home. The estuary coastal walkway is a walk of up to 3km whilst the inlet boardwalk is up to 9km round trip for the more energetic. Both walks are very scenic. We are also 20 minutes walk or 5 minutes drive from the centre of Tauranga with it’s excellent shopping centre and many restaurants, cafes etc waiting to be experienced. We are 10 minutes drive from the suburb of Mount Maunganui with the most magnificent golden sand beach that runs for 10km. From the top of the mount one can see for miles.
The major city of Auckland is 2½ hours drive away. The beautiful Coromandel Peninsular is approximately 1½ hours drive away and Rotorua, the Maori cultural centre is just 50 minutes drive away. Tauranga airport is just 4km drive.
For the keen golfer, there are three superb (and inexpensive) 18 hole courses plus the 9 hole public course which is just 3 minutes walk from our home.
This is our initial venture into house exchange and we are booked to go to the UK and Europe for around 3 months (April, May June) in 2011. We would consider those who are looking to visit our lovely country for one, two or three months bearing in mind that visitors will probably want to holiday in the South Island as well. For those who might be thinking of going to Australia, why not try a month in NZ. We have it all: hunting, shooting, fishing, skiing, surfing, tramping etc etc AND, the All Blacks!! We would also be happy to include a car exchange.
